Argh! I have plans, so many plans, swimming around in my head, and no time! I've been back at work this week since Monday, after a fun Christmas and New Year. Over Christmas, I was talking about getting a sewing machine, and my boyfriends mum said I could have hers. I was a bit dubious, after all, I wanted a nice shiny new one, not an old model. BUT Oh My God! You should see it! It's a Singer, and it's one of the ones that sits in its own little desk! It's beautiful, it's all metal, not a bit of plastic in sight. I love it. And from what I've read/heard, it's been built to last! It looks solid. She used to use it to make shoes and stitch leather. It's hardy! It's more than perfect for what I need it for. So... on Sunday I decided I had to re-arrange my already over-flowing craft room to make room for this little beauty. This is not an easy task, seeing as it requires the help of the OH, as moving furniture around also means moving wall fixtures around (rails, shelves, etc). My rails need to be above my desk. My cute little cubby unit needs to be near my desk. Etc etc. He did, however, agree I could move it around, although he was less than thrilled. It was a project that once I'd started, I wished I'd never began! I began at 10 am, and by 11 am I was surrounded by stuff. I tried, honestly tried, to elimuate as much crap as possible, and be ruthless and fling stuff out/give it away, but there's still just so much. Most normal people would tidy up first, then start to hump furniture around. Not I! 12 noon saw me on my hands and knees, crawling around under desks, climbing over expedits, stuffing stuff into carrier bags to get it out of the way! Anyway, to cut to the chase, I think I have the furniture how I want it, just waiting on the OH now to move my wall fixtures. Hopefully I can get him to do it this Saturday. Then I can transport my beautiful new sewing machine home :) And convince someone to teach me how to use it! All this, and I'm still massively behind on JYC, and determined to finish it. And I want to start 2010's scrapbook and keep it up to date throughout the year, not be on catch up like I am with 2008 and 2009! I need to go part time! Anyway, there was hope of a snow day here in North Northants this week, but snow has stopped falling. I'm hoping that overnight it will flurry down, giving me a precious day off to get on with all of the above! Also I want to go sledging again, check out the pictures from the snow just before Christmas. So much fun!

Happy New Year Sarah!
Lucky you getting the old Singer machine. I inherited my nan's when we lost her in 1998. It has pride of place in my house and I'd be more than willing to teach you how to use it, if you like? I have to admit, I don't use nan's but tend to use my all singing all dancing New Home machine, but you can't beat the old ones for sure!
xx
Great pictures Sarah!!!
Happy New Year
Thank you Rosie, thats so kind of you :) I'm hoping to get some lessons off Arrons mum, as it's her machine, she must know how to use it! I got 2 lovely books on sewing, the Cath Kidston one, and a lovely one from Amazon called Sew Pretty Homestyle - both have cute projects in them I'm dying to try!
Happy New Year to you too Linda :)
