Seeing as I haven't blogged in about a month - heres another post tonight! Just wanted to add another photo, and a fun story. The shoes in the picture used to be my all time favourite shoes EVER! I bought them when I was about 18, and wore them everywhere, mainly with jeans! I still have them in my possession, even though they havn't been worn for years, and are in pretty bad condition. I just can't bring myself to throw them out. So I'm trying a little challenge - if I can take a few good photographs of them, then make a layout about them, then maybe I can bring myself to chuck them out! I could even use elements from the shoes on my layout, the laces and the tags, and even paint the soles with acrylic paint and use as a stamp... watch this space!
I've not done a 12x12 in months, concentrating instead on mini books - this might be the inspiration I need.

Great idea!! Look forward to seeing the LO!
Once you have done your layout, why don't you paint the shoes and then fill them with compost and pop some flowers in each one and have them out in your garden, they will decay away eventually but will make quirky plant pots in the meantime.x
good luck with this...My husband now threw out some of the most smelliest hanging off your feet trainers I had years ago when we first met as he hated them. I didnt get to scrap them but they were in worse condition than yours lol !
cant wait to see what you do !
Stamping with the soles is a great idea! I also like Darcy's idea of using them as planters. Funny how things like this have such strong memories associated with them. You definately need to commemorate them!
I love the idea of using them in the garden! We already have some quirky items in our garden as plant holders, including a very cool old metal toolbox! Thank you everyone for the comments :)
Go for it..and remember to show and tell!
Alter them and then continue to wear them ... I have an old pair of Doc Martins that I have every intention of adding the odd one or two flowers to!
Dockers! I used to wear these for school, those little tags were so precious you could use them on your LO. If it's any help i scrapped a pair of my fave shoes before they went to shoe heaven, it's in this post here http://craftybeast.blogspot.com/2009/04/shoes-of-destiny.html HTH Jenny x
