The One About Catching Up

So... I haven't blogged properly in an age! This is the one where I attempt to catch up on recent goings-on.... not necessarily in the right order!
A trip to Solihull with friends! One that I wondered why I had agreed to go (drunk) and actually ended up having the most fun I've had in the longest time, with some great people. I think just getting out and breaking the routine of same old same old did the trick. I'm so glad I went. This is the only picture I have, of my friend driving there, but she has lot's more on her camera which I will upload onto my own pc. We went to Reflex, an 80's bar - a LOT of fun!
A new puppy! Honey comes from a well known animal rescue shelter, and we have welcomed her into our home with loving arms. She's 8 months old, and we adore her already. She is a *little* naughty, but nothing that Poppy (our springer) didn't do as a pup, and all she needs is a little consistency. She's absolutely as nuts as Poppy was as a pup, and very very cuddly. Poppy has taken to her quite well, we've been careful to make sure she knows she is still as loved as ever, and she is definitely more accepting of Honey every day. Arron found them asleep in the same bed the other day!

A Manic Street Preachers gig with a handful of my friends, it was fantastic and they played sooo well.

Halloween - my good friend Kirsty hosted a fabulous halloween party. I arrived late, due to work, but it didn't take me long to catch up! I'm afraid I was rather bossy and made everyone pose for photos, but everyone looked sooo good, and they love it really.

An autumn walk and picnic with my oldest friend (this is us age two-three....)

...and my camera - nothing terribly spectacular, but we had a really lovely day - stomping around a fairly local village, trying to keep to the walk path but failing madly! A beautiful picnic with the most amazing colours coming from the direction of the sun, and two girls playing with one camera. My friend actually used to be into photography years ago, and I think this day re-sparked her enthusiasm... there's talk of her purchasing a digital SLR! I sooo hope she does, firstly because she owes it to herself, she would be brillaint, and second because it'd be really fun and special to have one of my best friends share my passion.

The rain cut short our picnic, but even that seemed magical.

Alas, the poor picnic basket was no more after this day - upon getting home i dumped it onto the sideboard in the kitchen, and it was half on the hob, which I must have knoced on - and there it sat smoldering away for a good few hours - luckily I was home and didn't go back out, I dread to think what could have happened if I had..... (shudder). Gutted was not the word to describe my utter despair, but Arron has promised I can buy another one.
I love the images from this day - straight out of camera and so special to me.
In other news, I have joined Slimming world and am on a battle to beat the bulge! I am carefull counting "Syns" and weighing and measuring, and keeping a food diary. The hardest thing is no alcohol! This weekend will be my second alcohol free weekend, which makes me sound like an addict but I'm not - I just like to party!
I am determined to lose weight, I've been unhappy with my weight for a long time now, and I want to change it.
Thats about it really, apart from the afore-mentioned trip to Cali - honestly I am soooo excited! We have a lot of plans, and I've already decided I'm going to take a half empty suitcase out there, ready to fill up with lot's of lovely new purchases - Hollister ad Abercrombie and American Eagle and Levis and Uggs and Havainas - yay!! Hopefully for my new slim form!
Can't wait!
